25.4.2021 (2,5 hours)
State of the project:
- Collectables (+ UI for collecting) - playable, but need polish
- Enemies - playable, dont need polish
- Doors - polished
- Jumppads - iterated over like 5 different ways to implement (applying force, changing position over time, tweaking power and such)
- settled on one possible way counting in max height a character can reach + counting in time for which character is pushed up. Both together make a fine jumppad, but its still horrendous.
- end screen - after final portal is entered, game over screen appears, playable, but not polished
TODO:
- lot of playtesting, especially jumppads need exact tweaking so they dont send player through the roof but get far enough to reach desirable platform
- visuals - want to add details, decorations, etc
- polish everything
Thoughts:
- The jumppads really have shown difficulties for operating with somebody elses work. 2dKit indeed is designed to teach how to create games without programmig, which is doable, but when it come to scripting, the kit disappoints and is too difficult for me to wrap my head around.
